Archer Villages Joins the 2025 CORDE City2Surf
A Day of Community, Connection, and Celebration
The sun was shining, spirits were high, and the energy was electric as thousands gathered for this year’s 2025 CORDE City2Surf – and among the colourful crowd was our amazing Archer Villages team, proudly walking, jogging, and running alongside residents, staff, friends, and whānau.
From our youngest participants to our most seasoned residents, the Archer team embraced the day with enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose. With many donning our signature Archer t-shirts and wide smiles, we joined the wave of people making their way from the city centre, winding along the beautiful Ōtakaro Avon River, and taking in the fresh air and vibrant scenery on the brand-new City to Sea West Pathway.
Tackling the 6km route, our team embodied our values every step of the way—supporting each other, cheering each other on, and celebrating what it means to be just like family.
For participating residents, this event marked more than just a walk; it was a personal achievement, a social highlight, and a wonderful chance to connect with the wider community. We saw heartwarming moments of intergenerational encouragement—grandchildren holding hands with grandparents, caregivers walking beside the people they support, and team members pausing to help or simply enjoy the moment.
“Being part of City2Surf made me feel alive,” said one resident, beaming at the finish line. “I never thought I’d do something like this again, but here I am—with my Archer family.”
City2Surf 2025 truly lived up to its promise of being an epic event. From the live music along the route to the celebratory vibes at the New Brighton finish line, it was a day full of fun, fitness, and community. We’re proud to have been part of it—showcasing the vitality, connection, and compassion that defines Archer Villages.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, or supported our team on the day. Here’s to many more adventures together—and to continuing to show that age is no barrier to being active, involved, and inspired.
See you at the next City2Surf!
